100% Legal Trips To Cuba For Americans

The United States still maintains its travel embargo which prevents Americans from legally traveling to Cuba without a license.

Travel to Cuba with ECC is always compliant with US Treasury Department regulations and is therefore legal.

ECC does not organize any travel to Cuba that is not licensed.

When you sign up for one of ECCs’s pre-planned excursions, we will provide you with the specific Treasury Department license information that your trip complies with. Prior to your departure from Cuba, ECC provides all participants with a signed letter enumerating the license information. Customers can use this document if any authority asks about the legality of his or her trip.

“SUPPORT FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE”

ECC is licensed by the United States Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to engage, organize and conduct authorized group travel to Cuba. Our trips allow our travelers to participate in cultural interactions with local people in Cuba.

One type of license ECC can utilize is Support for the Cuban People. The purpose of the Support for the Cuban People license category is that it is intended to support the local people of Cuba by visiting Americans and at the same time, limit any benefits to the Cuban military and government that come from American tourists.

ECC will be responsible in creating and facilitating a full schedule of relevant activities so you can rest assured that your travel is fully compliant with the Treasury Department’s licensing requirements.

Activities like eating local food at privately owned restaurants, exploring museums, visiting tobacco farms and engaging with the farmers, or having discussions with artists, business owners and our local guides are the types of activities ECC will provide so you have a great time, learn and engage with local Cuban people, and ensure that your travel meets all licensing requirements.

“ECC has had direct communication with the US Treasury Department and the Embassy of the United States in Cuba for years. With hundreds of satisfied customers, ECC has an excellent track record and no customer has ever suffered negative legal consequences from their travel to Cuba.”

- Colin Ganley (ECC Founder)

ECC’s Compliant Itineraries

To fulfill the requirements of the Treasury Department, American travelers to Cuba must have a daily schedule of activities that directly support private Cuban businesses and individuals.

ECC has found that this can be complex and difficult for our customers that want to visit Cuba while strictly adhering to the required guidelines. And that is where our experienced team comes in.

ECC’s experience in traveling to Cuba as well as vast relationships built over the last 20 years easily allows us to build a daily itinerary that ensures our customers participate in amazing activities that support the Cuban people for the required six hours per day on weekdays.

Not only can ECC take care of building a schedule of activities that are in line with your interests and support the Cuban people, we also can navigate the complexity of avoiding any transactions with military-owned businesses that could lead to unwanted headaches and travel frustrations.

At ECC, we hold compliance with the Treasury Department regulations in the highest regard. That is also why we retain trip documents like receipts and itineraries and keep them in company storage for five years so you can travel with the security that ECC has you covered.

ECC is vigilant in protecting our customers & ensuring that all activities are 100% legal

When you travel with ECC, you travel under our auspices. This means that ECC ensures the legality of your travel to Cuba under the United States embargo. You will receive a compliance letter from ECC that you can use to verify the legality of your travel when you are applying for security clearance, global entry, or any other US government program.

“Some ECC customers have been asked by the Department of Homeland Security about the legality of their travel to Cuba when they applied for the Global Entry program and when they produced the signed letter from ECC, it was accepted and they were granted Global Entry status.”

There are several licenses that ECC can use for your travel because each trip we facilitate is different. ECC has had members of the military, people with high security clearances, and regular folks who just don't want to break the law when traveling to Cuba attend our trips.

ECC would be grateful to help you plan your trip to Experience Cuban Culture!
